The Sound Behind the Music
A little about the journey so far
Reborn in the Booth. Finally Living My Truth.
Based out of Boston, MA. this is music shaped by passion, strength, failures and pain. Many long nights spent figuring things out staring out a window pane.
independent recording artist, singer-songwriter, and self-taught guitarist with a lifelong love for music, a story to tell, and melodies that have lived in my head for as long as I can remember.
Before the recording booth became my home, the stage was where I belonged. From a very young age, I sang and danced anywhere and everywhere—talent shows, nightclubs, house parties, and any place where I could feel the music and let it move through me. If there was a stage, I was on it like a moth to a flame.
When I was about two years old, my mother asked me, “How can you sing and dance like that?” I simply shrugged my shoulders and replied, “I don’t know, Mami. I feel it in my feet.”
That little girl knew something long before she could put it into words. Music wasn’t just something I wanted to do. It was something I felt deep in my soul.
Over the years, I took dance classes and singing lessons, learned the basics of piano and guitar, auditioned for television shows, participated in songwriting workshops, and continued studying the art of music. I immersed myself in everything from music theory to learning how to read and write music. My journey has taught me that there is always something new to learn, that credit is everything, and that execution is key.
In 2002, I became a National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Grand National Champion while at Northeastern University. From 2003 to 2007, I was a Boston Celtics NBA cheerleader, performing on one of the biggest stages in professional sports. Those experiences helped shape the performer I am today, but music has always been the dream that lived closest to my heart.
THE DREAM NEVER DIED
I began recording my own music in 2004 while also being featured on tracks for local artists. Even then, I knew I had melodies to share and stories that needed to be told. But life had other plans for a while.
My one and only dream was to make music—to lay down the melodies that constantly played in my head and bring the sounds in my soul to life. But I made the decision to put my dreams on hold to be a mother to my children.
One day, I shared that truth with my daughter. Her response was something I will carry with me forever:
“Mom, that was the right decision. That is why you are so good at it.”
Those words touched a place in me that only a daughter could reach. I realized that choosing motherhood did not mean abandoning my dream. It meant that my journey was unfolding in its own time. Now that my children are older, they encourage me to go after everything I once put on hold. They are my biggest fans, my motivation, and a beautiful reminder that it is never too late to become who you were meant to be.
